Well, to be honest: I did expect a few people to like my new houses, but I was a bit overwhelmed with the reactions when I launched my little village at the showUP trade fair. What a wonderful recognition after a summer of hard work! I hope you like them too!

H E I M  -  T I N Y   H O U S E S
HEIM is a village of 12 highly diverse houses: traditional, urban, rural, cosy and old but also contemporary and modern. They are genuinely prefab: pre-punched, pre-creased and with windows that have already been broken out. Even the interior walls have been provided with wallpaper in a trendy black & white print. The only thing that you, as a contractor, need to do is to glue the walls and roofs together where indicated.
Finishing the houses is great fun, and once they are completed you can start shifting them around. Will your houses form a convivial village square on your table, or a ramrod-straight street on your windowsill? Will you string them into a festive garland, or give one away as a house-warming gift?
TIP: Create the most amazing Advent calendar ever! Buy two sets (= 24 houses) and number them with the house numbers provided! Next, put a small gift or message in each house, to be opened on each day of Advent.
HEIM, 12 pre-punched and pre-creased houses, with one sheet of stickers with house numbers.
The package is A4 size, so you can easliy send it as a gift (it fits in the mailbox).
Price is € 15.95 and you can buy them in my webshop!

my custom made showUP stand!

my new trade show stand

Hanging designs on the racks

For this fall I was determined: no small showUP stand with a standard table for JM anymore!

I wanted a real stand, spacious and custom made for me and my designs. I had a long list of requierments this new stand should meet, but I felt so insecure and therefore kind of clueless.

I asked Jenna Postma for help. She's a designer with a good spacial insight, experienced in store design and she had the guts to make some changes I was hesitating about.

She came up with the concept of coloured blocks with racks for the designs that should hang. The designs itself played the main role (requirement 1) and the packages were half hidden in the niches in the back of the blocks. The back wall was almost empty: 3 shelves only, with the 3 new designs on it.

With this concept Jenna created the minimalist and tranquil look & feel I wished for so badly. I changed the colours, the size of the blocks here and there and changed the layout a bit, but left her idea for the back wall.

Trade show partner, my dear husband Peteer built and painted everything. I was so happy with it. Loved the ochre brown with the nude color on the blocks, loved the visual tranquility ánd the spaciousness. So thanks Jenna, for giving me this great push in the right direction. It was lovely working with you!

my summer on instagram

bergen aan zee - beachgreen leaves collage + vintage ceramic vase
blooming heath & a scotth highlanderjurianne in the Hermitage Amsterdam + black organic tea towels
Morning walks - spotting deer
engel-winkel-café Zwolle and a garland made of my Weave lanterns

While the rain is pouring on my roof today I think back on how this summer was. I selected some pics from my Instagram feed to give you an overview...

I worked hard this summer: I had no vacation, but lots of morning walks, I reached my goals (yay) and Peter and I even spent a day or two at the beach and some hours in museums here and there.

I just launched 3 new designs at the large (it was mega this time!) showUP trade fair,  I will write a blogpost about them later.

Peter and I will go on holiday to Crete next week! We will leave the boys at home for the first time ever... (with a clear and signed contract about 'home alone parties', cleaning up, etc). I really have to make a start to let this go, for my own sake. I need this vacation - walking the gorges, reading books, snorkling - soooo much!
